Ahmedabad to be made 'Sister City' of Columbus city

Gujarat's commercial capital Ahmedabad would be developed as a ''Sister City'' of America's Columbus city.

This was discussed here today during a meeting held between a delegation of Columbus city, led by its Executive Director Edward Fisher, and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, an official release said.

An agreement was signed between Gujarat government and American delegation to develop the relationship between the two cities, the release added.

According to the agreement both the cities will enter into a bilateral relationship for educational, cultural, trade and commercial activities.

The American delegation lauded the efforts made by Mr Modi to make Gujarat the fastest growing state.

Mr Modi has urged the delegation to extend its co-operation for developing river front project of Ahmedabad on the line of Columbus city, the release added.
