A plea seeking to stay on streaming of an episode of 'Sacred Games' and deletion of a particular part of the episode containing derogatory & abusive remarks against former PM Rajiv Gandhi has been filed with the Delhi High Court.

A plea is filed against Netflix, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Phantom Productions, Vikram Motwani, Anurag Kashyap & Government of India for derogatory & abusive remarks against former PM Rajiv Gandhi in an episode of 'Sacred Games'.

Sacred Games is an Indian web television series by Netflix based on Vikram Chandra's 2006 thriller novel. The series was produced in partnership with Phantom Films.

The story revolves around Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) is a knackered police inspector living under the shadow of his deceased father and seeking validation from a police force he nevertheless loathes for its corruption. When Singh receives an anonymous tip-off regarding the whereabouts of Ganesh Gaitonde (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), a notorious crime lord who has been missing for 16 years, it initiates a chain of events that burrows deep into India's dark underworld.

Starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Saif Ali Khan and Radhika Apte, the novel was adapted by Smita Singh, Vasant Nath, and Varun Grover, and all eight, hour-long episodes were directed by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane. (ANI)
