Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz group chief and Opposition leader in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday accused the Imran Khan government of defaming him.

His response came in a National Accountability Bureau court, hearing the Ramzan Sugar Mills case. Sharif accused the government of trying to spread fake news.

He told the court that the government was planting news in foreign media and that he was being accused of swindling funds meant for earthquake victims.

The court adjourned the hearing to August 1.
