Mapleridge Fund Limited (MFL) announces that Keith L. Day has been elected as chair and an independent member of its Board of Directors on October 2, 2009. Mapleridge Capital Corporation, a leading systematic asset management firm, is the investment adviser for MFL. Day brings MFL’s Board of Directors to four members.

Day has more than 30 years experience in trading financial and commodity instruments and investing in hedge funds and commodity trading advisors (CTAs). He has extensive experience in the alternative investment arena and most recently worked for a large sovereign wealth fund as Senior Portfolio Manager, managing multi-billion dollar portfolios of investments in hedge funds and CTAs and was responsible for manager selection, portfolio construction and risk management.

With a unique background across the entire spectrum of trading and investments, Day has been involved in asset management, trading, managing trading operations for large investment banks and trading organizations, served as London manager of a U.S. hedge fund, CTA senior partner, and worked at a trading company, broker and investment bank.

Prior to entering the investment arena, Day obtained a degree in Metallurgy from the University of Aston, Birmingham, and worked as technical manager for a nonferrous metal mining and refining company.
