Dame Helen Mirren roped in for 'Red' comic book film

Veteran actress Dame Helen Mirren has been roped in to star in the big screen adaptation of comic book series 'Red'.

The three-book comic series, published in 2003 and 2004, follows the fortunes of a retired CIA agent who is targeted by a high-tech hitman determined to kill him.

According to Daily Variety, the Oscar winner will star alongside Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman, reports the Telegraph.

The film is slated to release in November 2010.

Mirren, 64, was most recently seen in Washington political thriller "State of Play." (ANI)
