Game of strip-Monopoly almost lands one in actual jail
London | September 04, 2010 12:01:13 AM IST

When three people in Britain decided to play strip-Monopoly, they never thought that it could almost land one of them in an actual jail.

Gary Williamson, 22, his girlfriend Leah McDonnell, 20, and her friend Micha Robinson, 20, were playing the game, which involved removing items of clothing rather than paying rent.

After a lengthy round, all three ended up naked, and the court heard Robinson made a play for Williamson, which enraged McDonnell, who came to blows with her.

The police were called and Williamson was arrested on suspicion of assaulting both girls.

He claimed he was simply trying to separate them, and the charges against him were dropped.

"The charges arose from a somewhat unusual game of Monopoly. They players had been drinking and they all ended up stark naked," the Sun quoted Ian Dacre, prosecuting at Blackpool Magistrates Court, as saying.

"One of the young women took exception to the behaviour of the other.

"An argument started and one of the girls said she was head butted by the defendant and the other said she had her hair pulled by him," Dacre said.

District Judge Jeff Brailsford was told neither of the girls had come to court to give evidence, and he dismissed the charges.

"I am glad it's not hanging over me. I won't be playing strip-Monopoly ever again," Williamson said outside court. (ANI)
