Miandad to help Pakistan cricket team
Karachi | November 21, 2008 3:35:12 PM IST

Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik has requested legendary batsman Javed Miandad, who has become the director-general of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), to assist the national team.

Malik met Miandad, also a former Pakistan captain and considered among the leading batsmen of all time, in Islamabad. "I've requested Javed bhai for his help and guidance," Malik told reporters.

Miandad said he would be pleased to help the national players in any way he can. "I will give the Pakistan players advice and tips so that they can overcome their flaws," said Miandad.

Miandad said he was delighted to see Pakistan beat the West Indies 3-0 in a one-day series in Abu Dhabi.
