NASA again postpones GLAST launch

The U.S. space agency again Thursday postponed the launch of its newest space telescope until at least next Wednesday. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration had initially targeted liftoff of the Gamma-ray Large Area Space Telescope, or GLAST, for Tuesday, but then moved the date to Thursday to allow resolution of some engineering problems. The space agency subsequently moved the launch to Saturday, but then postponed the GLAST liftoff to no earlier than June 11 aboard a Delta II rocket. NASA said the most recent postponement was needed to replace the rocket's flight termination system battery, which indicated a problem. (UPI)
