India Online ticket sales for WC2011 evokes good response
Online sale of tickets for cricket World Cup 2011 to be jointly hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh has evoked good response, a company official of the ticketing partner of the ICC said today. Speaking to reporters Kyazoonga.com Chairman, CEO and former Maharashtra cricketer Neetu Bhatia said the tickets, mostly priced below Rs 1000, had been on sale since June one and the response was good. Bangalore will host four matches in March 2011 World Cup involving Australia, Ireland, Canada, Kenya and India. However, the most interesting matches would be the practice matches between the hosts and Australia and South Africa on February 13 and 15, respectively. These matches would also have gates and the tickets would be sold at a later date, she said. Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) Secretary Brijesh Patel said selling tickets for non-Indian matches w ill be a challenge. The ticket price for these matches would be half of the price for matches in which India will play, he said. "This is the first time tickets are being made available almost nine months in advance. However, besides online ticket sales, tickets would also be available at retail outlets and box offices in the stadium at a later date, he added. The four matches to be played at M Chinnaswamy stadium here are England vs Ireland (Mar 2), India vs Ireland (Mar 6), Australia vs Kenya (Mar 13) and Australia vs Canada (Mar 16). -- (UNI) -- 29SPM1.xml
