Three bodies of car-lifters found

Three bodies of suspected car-lifters, killed in an apparent gun fight, were recovered from Panekheti area on the outskirts of Guwahati today.

Police said all the bodies bore bullet marks and were suspected to have been killed in a shooting incident between them.

The deceased have been identified as Lakshman Roy (Jalpaiguri), Somen Narzary (Kokrajhar) and Vanila Sailo (Mizoram) from the documents, including driving licenses, found on the bodies.

Several bullets, documents and currency notes, including Bhutan notes, were recovered from the possession of the deceased.

An abandoned private vehicle was recovered about one km from the spot and is suspected to be linked with the killings.

No arrests have been made yet.
