Raj assembly dead lock likely to be resolved

The prevailing deadlock between the the Opposition members and the government in the Rajasthan Assembly for past three days is expected to be resolved after intervention from Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot later today.

The impasse over the government's attitude on suspension of two BJP members, censure motion against Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shanti Kumar Dhariwal and the attempt to pass budgetary demands summarily, disrupted the proceedings in the assembly for past three days.

This precipitated into dharna and hunger strike in the assembly hall by BJP Deputy Leader Ghanshyam Tiwari and other members which continued overnight.

Meanwhile, efforts for resolution of the impasse were on as Government Chief Whip Virendra Beniwal and senior Congress member Surendra Jadawat met the agitating members last night.

"Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is expected to meet us at the dharna site later today", a spokesman of BJP MLAs said.
