India Former Journo arrested on charges of sending fake SMS to its readers
A former journalist of a leading English evening daily, was arrested in Kerala on charges of sending fake SMS to its readers, was brought to the city by Cyber Police today. B F Firoz, formerly working with Mid-Day, has been charged by the Cyber cell of sending disturbing SMS messages to the daily's subscribers. The messages read like "10 killed in Bangalore blasts, ''seven IT engineers killed due to swine flu in Bangalore''. He was nabbed by a team officers of Cyber Police Station here with the help of Thiruvananthapuram police in the Kerala on Sunday. A Kerala court had allowed request for transit warrant by the Karnataka police and Firoz was brought to the city today, police sources said. Cyber Cell Deputy SP P Savitha, Detective Inspector Vinayak N Urankar were among the police team that brought the culprit to the city today.
