India Haryana reinforcing reforms in educational sector
The Haryana Government is reinforcing major educational reforms at the primary, secondary and higher educational levels besides bringing significant improvements in the field of technical education, Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said here today. Mr Hooda, who was addressing the students and their guardians during the 57th Annual Day function of Model School here, said several prestigious educational institutions were establishing their schools, colleges and universities in Haryana. The prominent among these institutions were Medical College Mewat, Sainik School Rewari, IIM, Rohtak, Central University, Mahendragarh, National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship Management, Kundli, Central institute of Plastic Engineering and Technology, Murthal, Footwear Design and Development Institute, Rohtak, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs and National Automobile Testing RND Infrastructure Project Manesar, National Defence Academy, Gurgaon, Deen Bandhu Chhotu Ram College of Engineering, Murthal and YMCA College of Engineering, Faridabad. The Chief Minister announced to give land to the Model School for its new building at sector 10 and a grant of Rs ten lakh for setting up e-learning lab of the school. He also made the announcement of two day holiday of the school on Monday and Tuesday. He assured that the work on the various educational institutions would be completed soon so that the students could get world-standard education and research facilities. The State Government was committed for the education of students especially belonging to poor families and many incentive based schemes had been launched in the state for this purpose and make sure that the children of the poor families should not lag behind. It was the aim of the Government that the children of the poor families should also be educated so that they could contribute in the nation building when they join the mainstream of life. He said that education was the key to development which not only helps the children for their bright future but also make them good human beings. While advising the children to respect their elders, Mr Hooda said that the children should never forget that whatever they achieve it was due to their parents. He called upon the youth to recognize their capabilities and potential so that they could march towards a bright future. They are the future guardians of the nation and hence should achieve success by dint of hard work and their abilities. Mr Hooda said that he was feeling proud to be in the same school where he had attained his initial education. He recalled that when he studied in the school, there were only two dozen students. ''The school has made vast progress during the last few years and it had become the lifeline of Rohtak,'' he said. He expressed happiness that 29 students of the school had cleared the IIT entrance and two of Haryana students who had joined AIIMS, one belonged to this school. He congratulated the Principal, staff and the students for this important achievement. The Chief Minister also distributed prizes to the meritorious students of the school.
