40 long distance runners arrive in Pune

As many as 40 long distance runners from Kenya, Ethiopia and Tanzania have already arrived in the city to participate in the 24th Pune International Marathon, to be held here on December 6.

Prahlad Sawant, Secretary General of Pune International Marathon Trust said, here today, that all the arrangements have been made properly. Tough compitition is expected amongst the runners of Kenya, Ethiopia and Tanzania, he arrested. Long distance runners, who reached here from Kenya, Ethiopia, and Tanzania, had their practice session at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Balewadi yesterday.

A strong 29-member Ethiopian team including eight women, have arrived here while Kenya came with 11 long distance runners. Teams: Ethiopia: Gulilat Wna Defene Dengarjo Sofa Magza, Worku Asfaw Mamo, Alemyehu Negah, Endalk Mengiste, Surafel Mekonene.

Tanzania: Oswald Revalian, Naftal Sakho, Patrick Mangeto, Andrea Siluihni, Geemni Tsekeuay.

Kenya: Philip Makau Muic, Eston Nyaga Ngire, Joseph Muia Kimisi, Joseph Kithuka, Philip Muia, Edwin Kipcitumba, Bei Kuru, Hellen Nzembi Musyoka, Pauline Mutwa Thita, Eunice Mumbua Kioko, josephine Muthio Kimuya, Jane Mwikali Mauia, Agnes Katunge Mutune.
