India Auto lifters arrested; arms seized
The Crime Branch of Delhi Police today claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of robbers and auto lifters with the arrest of its five members. ''On an alert, police arrested Ramzan alias Pahalwan(40), Imran alias Meen(20), Javed(30), Irshad(45) and Nazim(30), all residents of Uttar Pradesh, near Khalsa College yesterday,'' Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Neeraj Thakur said. ''A 9 MM pistol and its four live cartridges, three country made pistols and its 10 live cartridges, gold jewellery worth Rs 4.65 lakh and four stolen motorcycles were recovered from their possession,'' he added. With their arrest, 10 cases of robbery and motor vehicle thefts from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh have been solved, police said.
