India Raj gets bail in three cases relating to attack on North Indians
A local court today granted bail to Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray in three cases relating to the party's tirade against North Indians in the state in October last year. Granting the bail, Judge Bhushan Kshirsagar directed Mr Thaackeray to pay Rs 10,000 as security bond in each case. Advocate Kishor Patil was pleading for the MNS Chief, who arrived in Bhadgaon here at 1210 hrs and left at 1330 hrs. Violent incidents had occurred in Jalgaon following Mr Thackeray's arrest in Ratnagiri last year for his alleged inflammatory speech, which incited attack on North Indians in the state by his partymen. The court had sent summons to Mr Thackeray to appear in the Bhadgaon court for three cases in connection with the incidents, but he failed to come. Following this, the court sent him non-bailable summons and Mr Thackeray appeared in the court today. Judge Kshirsagar has given January 30 as the next date for hearing.
