Vadodara is set to become 'Speed Capital' of India: Modi Vadodara | Sunday, Nov 22 2009 IST
Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today said the cultural capital of the state, Vadodara, is all set to become ''the Speed Capital of India'' with a massive industrial expansion. Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of Rs 2,700 crore steel wagon manufacturing plant of Jindal Rail Infrastructure Limited at Karjan, about 35 km from here, Mr Modi said, ''With setting up of projects by Jindal, General Motors, and US transport and aviation major Bombardier in vicinity of Vadodara city, the city is all set to become the Speed Capital of India.'' Mr Modi said his government has drawn up a long term plan to activate Central Gujarat with a special emphasis to setting up manufacturing projects here. The Chief Minister also said his government would welcome the setting up of arms and ammunition manufacturing facilities for Indian armed force in the state. -- (UNI) -- 22BY20.xml
