India Joshi says Shiv Sena does not need VHP's certificate
Retorting to Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader Ashok Singhal's remarks on the role of Shiv Sena in Babri Masjid demolition, senior Party leader Manohar Joshi today said Shiv Sena does not need any certificate from VHP. Dismissing as baseless the Sena chief Bal Thackeray's claim that Shiv Sainiks had demolished the disputed structure at Ayodhya on December 6, 1992, Mr Singhal had earlier while talking to newsmen in Nagpur had asked, ''If this was so, why didn't Mr Thackeray dare to come there?'' Replying to this, Mr Joshi told reporters, ''The King hardly goes on every battle field.'' The VHP International President had said it would be wrong to say that a particular group demolished the structure, because there were four lakh karsevaks there. He said, ''Definitely activists of the Shiv Sena were there, including former Maharashtra Chief Minister Manohar Joshi, who told me that he was one of my karsevaks.'' -- (UNI) -- 22BY17.xml
