BJP Yuva Morcha President Shirodkar resigns in protest

Mr Asish Tulsidar Shirodkar, President, Goa's Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, today resigned from the party to protest the alleged ''victimising'' attitude, allegedly resorted to by the party legislator Francis D'Souza of Mhapsa.

In his resignation letter addressed to the party president Shripad Naik, Mr Shirodkar said he did so as an 'abundant precaution and to avoid further damage to my political career'.

He resigned from the post and primary membership of the party.

The legislator, he alleged, had been engaged in spreading negativism about him and his supporters in Mhapsa, where he was an elected councillor.

''He is also instrumental in sabotaging the developmental works in my ward and victimising me and my supporters for his political gains. I believe this MLA has no urge to develop Mhapsa and is in a process of damaging the party organisation,'' he averred.

The copies of the resignation letters were sent to his 'guru' and leader of the opposition Manohar Parrikar and BJYM national president Amit Thakar.
