Dharmani replaces Kakkar as Punjab Ranji skipper

After the disasterious innings defeat at the hands of Tamilnadu in the Ranji trophy league match, the Senior Selection Committee of the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) today removed Ankur Kakkar as skipper of the Punjab Ranji team and appointed seasoned campaigner Pankaj Dharmani in his place.

In fact Kakkar does not find a place in the team with the selectors have made two changes in the team. Medium pacer Gagandeep Singh and Manish Bhatia have come in place of Bharat Lumba and Kakkar. Punjab play their next match against Gujarat from November 24 to 27 at PCA Stadium here The selectors met here under the chairmanship of Chaman Lal Malhotra with M P Pandove, Secretary, PCA as convenor. Taking stock of the performance of the Punjab Ranji Trophy team the selectors have made these changes in the squad. Team: Pankaj Dharmani (captain), Ravi Inder Singh, Uday Kaul (W K), Sunny Sohal, Vishwas Bhalla, Chandan Madan, Taruwar Kohli, Manish Bhatia, Gagandeep Singh, Rahul Sharma, Sarabjit Ladda, Manpreet Singh Gony, Harmeet Bansal and Love Ablish.
