AP Home Minister to review NCC Day parade tomorrow

Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy will be the Chief Guest at the 61st National Cadet Corps (NCC) Day Parade at the Army Parade Ground, Secunderabad, tomorrow, according to Deputy Director General NCC, AP, Air Commodore H J Walia.

Talking to newspersons here today, Air Commodore Walia said the Home Minister would review the parade and take salute at its march past. She would also hand over the Chief Minister's banner to the best among the contingents.

Second Officer G Veeranjaneya of Guntur Group would command the parade in which 120 girl and 550 boy cadets would take part. On the occasion, an air show, a horse show and static display of aircraft and ship models would be arranged. Cultural glimpses by the cadets would also be organised. He said the NCC was established in Andhra Pradesh in 1949 and has completed 60 years of its existence. Andhra Pradesh NCC Directorate had won the prestigious Prime Ministers Republic Day Banner in 2008 and 2009 as its recognition to hard work and dedication of the cadets and staff. Andhra Pradesh had achieved the distinction of having the strength of 1,29,550 NCC cadets, the highest in the country, he added.
