Sikhs to observe Martyrdom Day tomorrow

Members of the Sikh Community in the twin cities here will observe the 334th Martyrdom Day of ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur, tomorrow. In a statement, Prabhandak Committee Member S Jaswinder Singh and other members said a mass congregation would be held at new Gurudwara Saheb Sitalfalmandi, Secunderabad, which would be attended by hundreds of Sikh devotees and other community faiths.

Reputed Ragi Jathas (religious preachers) would recite Gurbani Keertans (hymns) on the occasion. It would be followed by Nagar Keertan (Holy procession), which would be taken out from the Gurudwara Saheb, Secunderabad, at around 1630 hrs. After passing through the main corridors of Secunderabad Railway Station, Chilkalguda X Road and Mlyargadda, the Nagar Keertan would culminate at new Gurudwara Saheb Sitafalmandi at 2100 hrs, Mr Singh added.
