Gang of highway robbers busted

The Delhi Police today claimed to have busted a gang which offered lift to people and robbed them of their belongings after travelling for some distance. ''The police arrested Monu Kumar (22), Deepak Kumar (19), Monu alias Bhallad (19), Surjeet (19) and Sonu alias Angad (22),'' Deputy Commissioner of Police(South) H G S Dhaliwal said.

The members were arrested when the police received a complaint from a Cargo Officer working at Indira Gandhi International Airport, who was robbed of his valuables.

''A Wagon R car, A screw driver, a Titan wrist watch, a purse, HSBC Credit card and three mobile phones were recovered from them,'' he added. Further investigation was in progress.
