8 Baraat Ghars, 3 Community Centres to come up in Delhi

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit today announced that eight Baarat Ghars and three Community Centres in New Delhi Assembly constituency would be upgraded with modern facilities. Speaking after inaugurating an upgraded Community Centre constructed by the NDMC at Golf Links here, Ms Dikshit said this Community Centre was constructed in 1970 as a single storey structure and now it was upgraded with an additional floor, multipurpose halls, gymnasium room, office-cum-library, pantry and caretaker room. The entire complex was now centrally air-conditioned. The renovation work was carried out at a cost of Rs 2.25 crore and completed in a record period of 14 months.

Later, the Chief Minister inaugurated Porta Cabins at East Kidwai Nagar here. A total of 10 prefabricated Porta Cabins have been constructed by NDMC in this area viz. three in East Kidwai Nagar, one in West Kidwai Nagar, three in Laxmibai Nagar, two in Sarojini Nagar and another in Nouroji Nagar. Each porta cabins have size of 8x10 meters attached with a toilet block. Each Porta Cabin consists one steel table, 10 plastic chairs, one electric fan with one tube light. Each Porta Cabin has been erected at a cost of Rs 2.82 lakh, which have been provided from MLA funds under Local Area Development Scheme.
