Chennai | Saturday, Nov 21 2009 IST

The Annual Convention of the All India Hotels and Restaurants, organised by the South India Hotels and Restaurants Association (SIHRA), will be held in Thiruvananthapuram, on December seven and eight. ''The theme for the Annual Convention is "India Tourism Past Learning and Future Earning" and will be inaugurated by Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan and addressed by Union Tourism Minister Kumari Selja,'' Mr M Purushothaman, President, SIHRA, has said.

Business sessions would be addressed by key policy makers, senior government officials, industry leaders and experts in various fields.

The sessions would focus on the business opportunities in Kerala, emerging trends in the hotel industry, he said. The convention would deliberate on how best we can benefit from past experience and plan effectively for a better future with confidence. This being the first convention of the All India Hotels and Restaurants in Kerala, the Government of Kerala is rolling out the red carpet and extending maximum support to the organisers in making this a grand and relevant meet. He further added that we have also organised very interesting and exciting Post-Convention Tours to "Back Water Tour of Kerala" and a visit to Sri Lanka. "We are anticipating excellent response from the Hoteliers and Restaurateurs from all over the country to participate in the deliberations of the Annual Convention and also enjoy the hospitality of the Gods own Country and the art and culture", he said.
