India Missing policeman resurfaces as 'sanyasi', suspended
A police Inspector, who went missing 15 days ago and resurfaced as a 'sanyasi' in Haridwar, has been suspended. Senior Superintendent of Police(SSP) Abhinav Kumar has suspended Bhasker Thapaliyal, who was traced at Haridwar yesterday. According to police sources, Thapaliyal had gone missing since November 5. He was in-charge of Circuit House police Chowki. His family members had lodged a report for his missing. Yesterday, Thapaliyal's brother Kapil and another policeman were looking for him in Haridwar when Thapaliyal was spotted at a tea stall near Rishikul Ashram. He was in guise of a 'sanyasi'. The reasons for his action is yet to be ascertained. SSP Abhinav Kumar took a strong view of Thapaliyal's act and suspended him immediately for the dereliction of duties. Further action against him is also being considered by the police department.
