India German film, 'The Crocodiles' wins Golden Elephant for the best film
The German Children Film 'The Crocodiles' bagged the Golden Elephant Award for the best feature film at the 16th International Children's Film Festival (ICFF) here. The film, directed by Christion Ditter won in the International Competition section on the concluding day of the festival yesterday. The best director award in the International Competition category was won by Harald Hamrel of Sweden for his film 'A Witch in the Family'. The Silver Elephant Award for the best animation film was handed over to Sally Pearce from UK for his short film 'Elephants'. 'The Crocodiles' also won the Silver Elephant Award for the best screen play and 'The Letter for the King' from the Netherlands, directed by Pieter Verhoeff won the Golden Plaque for the best film selected by Childrens jury in the same section. In the Asian Panorama section, Chinese Film 'Two Men's Classroom', directed by Dong Ling won the award for the best feature film. The Golden Elephant award for the best director in the same section was won by Pandiraj from India for his film 'Kids' and the Iranian film 'I feel Pity for the Ozone Layer' directed by Poorio Aghili won the Silver Elepant award for the best short film. Iranian films, 'The Cunning Tailor and the Young Man' directed by Rashin Keyrien won the Silver Elephant award for the best animation film, 'Child and the Angel', directed by Masoud Naghoshzodesh won the Silver Elephant award for the best screen play and 'Half Mine and Half Yours' directed by Vahod Nik Khoh Azad won the a Golden Plaque for the best film selected by the Childrens jury in the same section.
