Advani agrees with SP for early decision on Liberhan: Amar Singh
New Delhi | Friday, Nov 20 2009 IST

Demanding early tabling of the Liberhan Commission Report and speedy trial of culprits of the Babri Masjid demolition, Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh today said he had spoken to BJP veteran L K Advani over the issue and he was also in agreement with him.

Talking to reporters in Parliament premises here, Mr Singh alleged the UPA Government was causing a delay because the panel's findings has put Congress also in the dock in the Ayodhya demolition case. The SP leader said he could not understand why a speedy trial of the Babri Masjid Demolition case could not be held while the court conducted trial in the gas dispute case involving the Ambani brothers on a day-to-day basis.

He said he had approached Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha L K Advani to discuss the issue, and he also wanted that there should be an early tabling of the Liberhan Report.

It was a shame and sham both that 17 years had passed after the Babri Masjid demolition, and report of the inquiry into the incident was yet to come, he said.

He accused the Congress of using Muslims just as a vote bank, and said there was a limit to the period for which they could be fooled by the party.
