India Lankan fishermen detained
The Indian Coast Guard had detained nine Sri Lankan fishermen, when they were found fishing in the Indian waters off Andhra Pradesh. Coast Guard sources said the fishermen, in two vessels, were apprehended by the Indian Coast Guard on November 16 and handed over to the Kasimedu Police the next day. After arresting the fishermen, the police produced them before a Magistrate Court here yesterday after which they were remanded to 14 days judicial custody, the sources said. -- (UNI) -- 20MS32.xml
