India Honeywell, HAL celebrate 25 years of aerospace collaboration
US aviation major Honeywell and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd(HAL)today celebrated 25 years of aerospace collaboration, including production and support of the TPE331-5 turboprop engine. Speaking at a function to mark the event, President of Honeywell Business and General Aviation, Rob Wilson said, HAL had become its global hub for manufacturing turboprop engines. Mr Wilson said ''The relationship between the two began in 1984 when we first licensed production of TPE331 engines. As our partner, HAL has built more than such engines for defence forces and Coast Guard and provided quick response time for the Indian military''. HAL has taken up TPE331-12JR engine parts to meet global demand, he added. HAL Chairman Ashok Nayak said with exciting time ahead for both companies, HAL looked forward to the future, expanding the relationship to achieve greater heights and growth.
