India Mamata inaugurates first 'Jan Ahaar'
As promised in the last railway budget, Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee today inaugurated the first 'Jan Ahar' cafeteria for passengers at the old complex of Howrah station. The prices of food items in the eatery, to be managed by the Indian Railway and Tourism Corporation(IRTC) Limited, is ranged between Rs 3 and Rs 38. But most of the items are priced below Rs 20. Speaking on the occasion Chairman of the Passenger Amenities Committee and noted painter Suvaprasanna said they would try to bring down the price of packaged drinking water from Rs 12 to Rs 5.
