India SBoP opens credit counseling centre
Financial Literacy and Credit Counseling Centre (FLCC), which has been sponsored by State Bank of Patiala (SBoP) as Lead District Bank, has started functioning at New Grain Market from today. Mr T Lokeshaiah, Chief General Manager of the Bank inaugurated the centre. While inaugurating the FLCC, Mr Lokeshaiah said this FLCC has been opened under RBI scheme for the benefit of the general public. This centre will work independently and is manned by other than the serving bankers. These centres will provide guidance to people in understanding financial products, terminology, terms and conditions laid down by Financial Institutions and to understand products of different banks as available in the market, he added. These centres will also provide help and advice on debt restructuring to the borrowers in distress. Any person can utilise the services through personal discussion by visiting to FLCC, on phone or through e-mail. SBoP is opening seven such centres in Punjab and one in Haryana shortly. Mr R D Modi, General Manager (Plg & Dev) appealed to the people to make full use of this centre and advise their friends and known about this facility. He advised that this centre will function in a transparent manner and in confidence with the service seekers. The Counselor, Bhagwant Singh, who will provide the service at the centre, being an ex-banker, is well versed with the banking laws and the systems and the visitors will be immensely benefited.
