India 4th World Games from Nov 22
More than 900 sportsperson from 45 countries can be seen in action vying for top honour in the IV International Wheel Chair and Amputee Sports Federation (IWAS) World Games to be held in the city from November 22 to December 2, Organising Committee Chairman R Ratan Singh said today. Talking to newsmen here, he said in all, there would be 11 events in various disciplines, including 10 competetive and a Rugby demo event. The events would be held at various venues in the city--Athletes in the newly-laid synthatic track at Sri Kanteerava Stadium, Badminton at Karnataka Badminton Association Court, Golf at Bangalore Golf Association, Powerlifting and Wheel Chair Fencing at Indoor Stadium, Shooting at Sports Authority of India (SAI) Southern Centre and Swimming at Basavanagudi Acquatic Club. IWAS Games Technical Manager Jan Bockweg released Technical Hand Book writen by Former Athlete, Dr Vishwanath.
