India Gali ''unfit'' to be Minister: Naidu
Irked by the ''intemperate'' language used by Karnataka Tourism Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy against him, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu today retorted saying Mr Reddy was ''unfit'' to be a Minister. ''He (Mr Reddy) has taken oath to protect the Constitution. But he is involved in looting of public wealth. The BJP should act against him or else it will have to pay a heavy price,'' Mr Naidu alleged at a press conference here. ''Mining mafia is a bigger threat to the nation than terrorism or extremism,'' he opined. ''We are now witnessing a peculiar situation of the Congress opposing Mr Reddy's illegal mining activities in Karnataka and extending support to him in Andhra Pradesh. It is for Congress President Sonia Gandhi to give an explanation'', he said. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah went to the extent of diluting the whole issue of ''mining mafia-politician nexus'' by reducing the issue to that of one between two rival mining companies. Taking strong objection to Mr Reddy comparing him to ''one lakh Madhu Kodas'', the Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister said, ''Madhu Koda is not that big a threat to the society like Mr Reddy.'' Mr Reddy, with his money power, had made Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa ''helpless'' and the BJP Central Leadership had succumbed to his blackmail to save its first government in the South, he claimed. -- (UNI) -- 19MS37.xml
