India AP to work diligently for welfare, education of all children
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah today said the state which has taken the lead in implementing the regulations adopted by Parliament with respect to Prevention of Child Marriage, Right to Education and Prevention of Child Labour would continue to work diligently for survival, development, education and participation of all its children. Informally talking to officials concerned on the eve of the Media Launch of the State of the World's Children's Report 2010 - Special Edition, he said he was happy that the partnership between Government of Andhra Pradesh and UNICEF was working for concrete projects focussed on health, education, HIV AIDS and child protection for comprehensive approach to empowerment of women and improved delivery of service. He said he was happy that while adopting these documents in Telugu and Urdu, children had been kept in mind. The new child-friendly booklet on Conventions of the Child Rights should help children to know their rights. He said he was glad that this special issue of the UNICEF's state of the World's Children, tracks the impact of the Convention on child Rights and the challenges that remain. -- (UNI) -- 19MS30.xml
