Naidu to take his fight against OMC to Delhi
Hyderabad | Thursday, Nov 19 2009 IST

TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu, who has united like-minded parties in Andhra Pradesh in its crusade against illegal iron ore mining allegedly by Obulapuram Mining Company (OBC), will go to New Delhi soon after November 23 civic elections here to mobilise support at the national level for curbing ''mining mafia's illegal activities'' in Anantapur district by pressing for constituting a Multi-Disciplinary team of the CBI. ''There is prima facie evidence to show that OMC has violated forest and mining laws, evaded income tax, sales tax, and under invoiced exports and indulged in money laundering. Only a thorough probe by multiple central agencies will be able to render justice,'' he claimed at a press conference here. Alleging ''nexus'' between OMC promoter and Karnataka Tourism Minister G Janardhan Reddy and the family of late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, he said money received by Red Gold Enterprises owned by one Diwakar Reddy, brother of Sakshi Group Director Ramakrishna Reddy, had to be tracked.

He wanted immediate suspension of the mining activity in five mines relating to OMC, senior mining and forest officials responsible for monitoring OMC activities and confiscation of the alleged illegally mined iron ore and placing of relevant records before State Assembly Speaker N Kirankumar Reddy.
