ACS opens new facility in Chennai
Chennai | Wednesday, Nov 18 2009 IST

IT outsourcing services provider Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) today expanded its global capabilities with the opening of a new 22,000 square-foot office and delivery center in the city. The new facility was opened by Tamil Nadu IT Minister Ms Poongothai Aladi Aruna.

The company has hired 125 employees and the new facility provides growth capacity for up to 235 total employees. With the opening of this new facility, ACS expands upon its growing presence in India with existing facilities in Bangalore, Kochi and Noida, and more than 5,500 employees supporting a range of business process and information technology outsourcing services. The Chennai facility would primarily support the ACS Healthcare Solutions group and provide end-to-end application support for commercial healthcare information systems (HIS) vendor solutions including Cerner, McKesson, Epic and Meditech. ''By expanding our healthcare outsourcing expertise in India, ACS will achieve significant cost savings for our clients and provide immediate enhanced productivity and services,'' said ACS Senior Managing Director Chad Harris at the launch function. ''We will now be positioned to provide a broader scope of innovative services, including global sourcing capabilities to the healthcare provider market.''
