BJP has emerged 'stronger' from K'arnataka crisis : Sushma
Bangalore | Wednesday, Nov 18 2009 IST

Expressing regrets for the 'ugly' rebellion that broke out in the Karnataka BJP recently, Deputy Opposition leader in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj today maintained that the crisis had blown over and factional leaders had pledged to work together.

Speaking to newspersons after participating at the BJP Legislature Party meeting, which was held here in the wake of the political crisis, she said whatever differences existed in the state the BJP had 'withered away' like the morning mist.

Claiming that bon homie prevailed among the party legislators after the conclusion of the BJP LP meeting, she said she saw a ''positive atmosphere and jubilation.'' Referring to the incident of rebellion in the state BJP, Ms Swaraj said it not only disturbed all, but also put the party leaders in 'shame'.

She said the episode, however had taught lessons to the leaders who had realied that they should be more accessible to party legislators and communicate with them often.

The central party leaders, including Arun Jaitley and Venkaiah Naidu spoke at the meeting and advised Cheif Minister B S Yeddyurappa to change his style of functioning and make himself available for the party legislators and the organisation to ensure that such a situation does not recur.

Mr Yeddyurappa, who also spoke in the meeting reciprocated the views expressed by the Central leaders.
