India Six killed, five injured in road accident
Six people, including two women and an infant, were killed and five others seriously injured when an iron ore laden truck hit a passenger vehicle near Ankola town in Uttara Kannada District this morning. Police said the victims, natives of Padangadi village, Belthangadi Taluk in Dakshina Kannada District, were bound for Hubli to attend a religious function when the mishap occurred. Following the incident, vehicular movement on National Highway No 63 was disrupted for more than an hour. The two seriously injured persons were first admitted to Government Hospital at Karwar and later shifted to Bambolim Medical College Hospital at Panaji.
