Notorious rowdy Lokesh held

Police have arrested rowdy Lokesh, alias Mulaman, and his four associates wanted in connection with 15, criminal cases against them.

In a release here today, Commissioner of Police Shankar Bidri said Lokesh alias Mulaman was involved in two murder, two attempt to murder and 13 other criminal cases.

He used to extract money from land owners, with the help of his associates, under the pretext of providing security to their land.

He would put up temporary sheds in the vacant sites and collect monthly rent on them, the police officer said.

During interrogation, it was revealed that Lokesh had invested Rs 32 lakh in construction of flats in R T Nagar.

The associates arrested included Janardhan, R Ravi Kumar, Shafi alias Shafi ulla and T Suresh alias Suri, he added.
