India Two stolen tridents from Swamiji's home found, one more stolen
Hours after detection of missing of a trident from ancestral home of Swami Vivekananda in north Kolkata, two tridents, stolen three weeks ago from same place, were recovered from a vat this morning, police said. Conservancy workers, during cleaning of the garbage disposal at Deshbandhu Park, about a kilometer from the birth place of Swami Vivekananda at 3 Gour Mohan Mukherjee Street, chanced to stumble on the brass-made tridents, believed to have been stolen from the house on October 22. Local people, with the help of Kolkata Municipal Corporation workers, called the police and deposited the tridents, weighing about two kgs each and having antique value. Maharaj Shibmoyananda of Swami Vivekanada House yesterday had loged an FIR with Girish Park police station about the theft of a third trident from the house, a heritage site of the city and prime attraction of people visiting the city. Police said the two tridents packed in a sack found from the garbage bin, were not the third one which was stolen on Sunday. About 14 tridents were placed to fence the room where Swamiji was born on January 12, 1863.
