Dharma launches digital promotions for ''Kurbaan''

Dharma Productions is leaving no stone unturned in promotion of its latest venture ''Kurbaan'', as it launched an online game and Social Networking Application (SNA) for users on Facebook and Orkut today.

Dharma has tied up with Hungama Digital Media, South Asia's largest digital entertainment company for launch of Digital Promotions for the film, which is being co-produced by UTV Motion Pictures and stars Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Vivek Oberoi, Dia Mirza, Kirron Kher and Om Puri. The game is also available for users on their Mobile Device.

The Digital Promotions of Kurbaan give the audiences a sneak preview into the secret mission lead by Saif's character in the movie. The winner will be rewarded with exclusive wallpapers and ringtones. Commenting on the move, producer Karan Johar said, ''Today, 'digital' has become a medium to connect worldwide audiences with the stars and movie concepts. With the digital campaign for Kurbaan, we want to establish connection with the audience and get them involved with the movie even before it releases. Through our association with Hungama we will be at every digital touch point for the consumer over mobile and internet.'' Speaking on the occasion, Neeraj Roy, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Hungama Digital Media said, ''The theme of Kurbaan is a perfect setting for an interactive digital campaign.

These campaigns give the audience a chance to experience the thrilling aspects of a movie before it hits the silver screen. At Hungama, we use our expertise on the digital media to create concepts which will allow viewers to sample and consume content.'' The Social Networking Application, ''New York Rush'' is built around an integral portion of the film, where Saif's character is in the process of recruiting talented drivers for his squad. Users will have a chance to play a Rookie Driver attempting to race against time and diffuse bombs across the city of New York. Successful completion of the mission will ensure the winner a place on Saif's squad who's mission to avert a major calamity. Saif, who also present on the ocasion said, ''Hungama has created an exciting concept which gives my character in Kurbaan an opportunity to interact with the audience. I'm thrilled to know that I'll have my very own squad which will help me in my secret mission.'' Appreciating the move, Kareena said, ''Due to our hectic schedules we barely get to watch movie trailers and music videos.

But thanks to the mobile and the internet, we can keep ourselves updated on everything related to Bollywood. I'm glad that Hungama has created this really exciting game and application for Kurbaan which will give the audiences something to look forward to before the film releases on November 20.''
