UPCA in search for sponsor for Indo-Lanka Test match

Even as the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Asociation (UPCA) is still waiting state government's order to handover Green park stadium for Indo-Srilanka test match from November 24, they are also in frantic search for the sponsor.

Hardly a fortnight is left for the match, it is not likley to get a sponsor and UPCA is prepared to organsie the match on its own.

''It is basically a job of Board for Cricket Control of India (BCCI) to find out the sponsor and this could be expedited only after the ongoing India-Australia one day series,'' Prem Dhar Pathak, the secretary of UPCA told UNI.He has gone to Mumbai to attend a meeting of the BCCI.

He said the UPCA would search for the sponsorship if BCCI did not arrange for the one. ''We are hopeful to get the sponsorship for the Indo-Srilanka test match but keeping our options open to organise the match on our own,'' Mr Pathak said.

In case the sponsorship is not available, the UPCA has alreay made up its mind to organise the match without sponsor,he pointed out.
