205 nominations filed on lastday for 1st phase polling

Former speaker Alamgir Alam (Cong) was among 205 candidates who filed nomination on the last day for the first leg of five-phase of polling for 30 Assembly seats on November 25.

Scrutiny would be done on November nine and the withdrawal of nominations till November 11.

Polling in 30 Assembly seats, including Rajmahal, Borio, Barhate, Littipara, Maheshpur, Shikaripara, Dumka, Jama, Jarmundi, Porriyahat, Nala, Jamtara, Madhupur, Sarath, Deoghar, Godda, Mahgama, Ranchi, Hatia, Kanke, Jugsalai, Jamshedpur(East), Jamshedpur (West), Sindri, Dhanbad, Jharia, Tundi, Baghmara and Nirsa, would begin from 0700 hrs and end at 1500 hrs.

About 72,31,680 voters would exercise their franchise in 9077 polling booths in the first phase.
