Chavan, Bhujbal express regret to people for delay

Chief Minister Ashok Chavan and his deputy Chhagan Bhujbal today expresed regret to the people of Maharashtra for the delay in formation of government. Addressing the media at Mantralaya here, both the leaders said ''Alliance had a delay in government formation as it wanted to give a stable government.'' ''We were discussing the government formation to give more stability to the people of Maharashtra for next five years that resulted in the delay,'' they said and added ''Our government will do the time bound implementation of the Congress-NCP manifesto.'' Mr Chavan said ''I am happy that I have again become the chief minister in the golden jubilee year of the state and I thank for this to congress president Sonia Gandhi, general secretary Rahul Gandhi and NCP supremo Sharad Pawar.'' He said that the three day session of the legislative assembly will be held from November 9 to 11 and seniormost legislator Ganpatrao Deshmukh will be the Pro-Tem Speaker. He added that the new cabinet will have its first meeting tomorrow and the portfolio will be allotted by evening.
