Nagpur | Saturday, Nov 7 2009 IST

Five people, who had been arrested here for allegedly smuggling tiger skin and bones by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), were today remanded to police custody till November 13.

The CBI had been given custody till today, which was extended by another week by a local court.

The five people were arrested from a train at Nagpur railway station on November five along with two tiger skins and about 60 kilograms of tiger bones, CBI sources said. They were nabbed by a joint team of CBI officials from Mumbai and New Delhi after receiving a tip-off that poachers were carrying the material on the train, they added.
