India Andhra vs SSCB match cancelled: ACA
The second plate Group 'B' Ranji Trophy match between Andhra and Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) scheduled to be held at Anantapur from November 10, was cancelled owing to the ban on the SSCB team by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for 'forfeiting' its match against Jammu and Kashmir. While confirming this to UNI here this evening, ACA sources said they had received information to this effect from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). After a meeting in New Delhi on November 3, the BCCI had banned the SSCB team from participating in the 2009-10 edition of the Ranji Trophy after they refused to tour Srinagar for the Plate division match against Jammu and Kashmir citing security reasons. The BCCI in its statement had said the action taken was in accordance with its rules pertaining to domestic tournaments. Andhra, which had drawn its first match against Kerala, had secured three points from the match and will now play its next four-day match against Madhya Pradesh here from November 17. The sources added that the Ranji Plate match between Andhra and Haryana, which was scheduled to be held at Visakhapatnam from December 1 to 4, has been shifted to Vijayawada as the India-Sri Lanka one-day international will be held at ACA-YSRVDCA stadium at Vizag on December 18. The match was shifted as the officials at Visakhapatnam wanted time to prepare the wicket and outfield for the ODI, the sources informed.
