Notice to MP CS, others
Indore | Saturday, Nov 7 2009 IST

National Scheduled Castes Commission Chairman Buta Singh today said the Commission would issue notices to the Madhya Pradesh Chief Secretary, principal secretaries of the Rural Development, Panchayati Raj and Urban Development departments for violating a Supreme Court order regarding pre-poll delimitation.

''The Commission will contemplate registering of a contempt case as the apex court ruled that civic bodies' elections should never precede delimitation. As many as 18 district collectors have given in writing that delimitation has not taken place in their jurisdiction,'' he told the press here.

Dr Singh pointed out that the Commission wrote on several occasions to the senior bureaucrats concerned who were directed to be present during the Chairman's visit but failed to turn up.
