India Bus accident toll rises to 35
A woman bus passenger, badly hurt in yesterday's bus accident at Haripur, succumbed to her injuries in Dr R.P. Govt Medical College Tanda today, taking the death toll to 35 in the accident. The other 36 injured passangers were getting treatment at DRPGMC Tanda. Thirty-four people were killed, 19 of them on the spot, while others died in different hospitals of the district, when an over-loaded 29 seater private bus rolled down in to Banner river near Haripur Guler Bridge yesterday morning, Police said. Of the 37 other injured admitted at the DRPGMC Tanda, Reenu Bala, a resident of village Sarsa passed away today, Kangra District Police Chief Dr Atul Fulzele today told UNI. Additional District Magistrate Sandeep Kumar gave Rs 25,000 to the next kin of the Reenu today during a visit to the hospital. Minister for Social Justice and Environment Ms Sarween Choudary also visited DRPGMC Tanda today on behalf of the government to inquire after the condition of the injured. -- (UNI) -- 07DR95.xml
