Chinappa crashes out of US Open Squash
New Delhi | Saturday, Nov 7 2009 IST

Joshna Chinappa suffered a straight set defeat in the first round to crash out of the 42,450 dollar US Open Squash Championship in New York today.

The Indian ace lost to fifth seeded Laura Massaro of England 2-11, 9-11, 15-17 in an encounter which lasted for just half-an-hour at the Heights Casino club.

Chinappa was totally outplayed by her opponent in the first game but recovered to put up more of a fight in the second.

The third and final game saw both players slug it out tooth and nail before Laura edged out Chinappa by a mere two points to enter the second round.
